Adam Copeland had an awkward moment during Wednesday night’s AEW Grand Slam: Mexico edition of Dynamite.
The WWE Hall of Famer made his long-awaited debut inside Arena Mexico, teaming with The Young Bucks in the opening eight-man tag team match against The Death Riders.
During the match, Copeland and Matt Jackson attempted a synchronized version of Rey Mysterio’s 619 on Jon Moxley, who was draped across the middle rope. As the two circled the ring to connect with the move from opposite sides, Copeland lost his footing on the ropes and slipped, causing the spot to be mistimed.
The ending of the match also saw another costly mistake for Copeland and The Young Bucks. A miscommunication between Copeland and Matt Jackson created an opening for Jon Moxley, who capitalized by rolling up the former WWE Champion to score the victory for the Death Riders.
