Aalyah Mysterio Is Struggling At The WWE Performance Center

Aalyah Mysterio is taking her first steps toward a potential career in professional wrestling, and her father, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, has provided an update on her progress at the WWE Performance Center.

While Dominik Mysterio has already established himself as one of WWE’s biggest stars, Aalyah has reportedly begun training at the Performance Center as she prepares for a possible future in the squared circle.

Aalyah is already familiar to WWE fans, having played a significant role in Rey’s storyline with Seth Rollins in 2020. The angle eventually saw her become romantically involved with Buddy Murphy, now known as Buddy Matthews, before she disappeared from WWE television.

Although Aalyah’s in-ring debut is still likely a ways off, Rey recently spoke with The Sun about how her training has been going. According to the WWE Hall of Famer, his daughter has been training for roughly a month and has already shown that she can pick things up quickly. He said,

“She’s doing good. She’s about a month and a weekend of training in, and she picks up very fast. But she also gets very frustrated very easy, but it’s normal. She wasn’t around as much like Dom (was as a kid), backstage playing and hanging out with the boys and the wrestlers and the staff and crew.

“So, she struggles a little bit. She’s completely new to the industry in the sense that training, knowing wrestlers, knowing wrestling names, moves — all these little things that if you try to combine everything at once, you’re gonna go crazy because there’s so much, so much to learn here! But she’s enjoying it very, very much.”

Rey noted that Aalyah’s experience is quite different from Dominik’s, as Dom grew up around the wrestling business and had considerably more exposure to WWE’s backstage environment and its talent.
