Before one of AAA’s biggest summer events gets underway, three championship matches have officially been announced for Verano de Escándalo.

The three-week Lucha Libre AAA Verano de Escándalo special kicks off on July 25 from Arena San Marcos, with multiple titles set to be defended throughout the event.

During the July 11 episode of AAA on FOX, AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio revealed three championship matches that will headline the special, confirming a stacked lineup for the annual showcase.

You can check out the updated lineup for Verano de Escándalo below:

* AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs. Mini Vikingo
* AAA Reina de Reinas Championship — Triple Threat Match: Flammer (c) vs. Lady Shani vs. La Catalina

There is also going to be an AAA World Mixed Tag Team Title match at Verano de Escándalo. Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana are the reigning champions, and their opponents will be determined via a tag match featuring La Hiedra and Laredo Kid versus Joaquin Wilde and Faby Apache.

Mini Vikingo’s breakout run in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide continued in impressive fashion on Friday night.

The July 11 episode of AAA featured a Triple Threat Match to determine the next challenger for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship, with Dragon Lee, Mini Vikingo, and Jack Cartwheel battling for the opportunity.

The fast-paced contest delivered plenty of high-flying action, with all three competitors coming close to securing the victory. In the closing moments, Dragon Lee countered Jack Cartwheel’s attempted hurricanrana into a Styles Clash. Before Lee could capitalize with the pinfall, Mini Vikingo soared into the ring with a spectacular 630 Splash, taking out Lee before pinning Cartwheel to score the win.

With the victory, Mini Vikingo has officially earned a shot at Rey Fenix’s AAA World Cruiserweight Championship. The title match is now set for the opening night of AAA’s Verano de Escándalo special on July 25.

You can check out the complete AAA on FOX Results (7/11/26) below:

* AAA Cruiserweight Championship Number One Contender’s Match: Mini Vikingo def. Jack Cartwheel and Dragon Lee
* Rey Mysterio warns El Grande Americano of Perros Del Mal. Americano says he’s going to find some friends. Dominik Mysterio interrupts, saying they should watch each other’s backs to ensure the match at Triplemania happens.
* Dorian Roldan announces El Hijo del Vikingo will be out of action for many weeks. He blames Rey Mysterio for sending Vikingo to NXT and SmackDown. He says he’s going to sue Rey and give the AAA Latin American Championship to Omos. Rey comes out and tells Omos to hand the title over or he’s suspended. Omos gives him the title, which is now declared vacant.
* Mini Vikingo vs Rey Fenix for the Cruiserweight Championship and Flammer vs La Catalina vs Lady Shani for the Reina de Reinas Championship are announced for Verano de Escándalo.
* Money Machine (Colmillo De Plata and Garra De Oro) vs Noisy Boy and Epydemius Jr. went to a no contest when Perros Del Mal attacked.
* Perros call out Americano. Americano comes out with Los Americanos, but the numbers are too much. Dominik Mysterio makes the save. He challenges any two of Perros to face him and Americano.

And finally, two Ring of Honor (ROH) matches were taped ahead of this week’s episode of AEW Collision.
