AAA Ola de Calor Predictions? | Question Of The Day

Three events go down this weekend with AAA Ola de Calor, NXT Heatwave, and AEW All In. To dedicate enough time for each of them on the predictions side of things, we’re jumping ahead a bit and taking care of AAA today.

Tomorrow’s show has yet to air (naturally), so while we do know the spoilers for it, we don’t yet know if there are any tweaks to the lineup. Keep that in mind.

My question for you today is “Who do you think will win at AAA Ola de Calor on Sunday?”

As far as my answer…

There are five matches currently announced as of when I’m writing this (note: Tuesday afternoon, for anyone wondering). Two of those elements have not yet been fixed, as we know El Carnicero will make his debut, but we don’t yet know who his opponent will be, and the gauntlet match for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship match at Triplemania is just TBA participants.

With that being said, I think it’s still pretty easy to determine how those will play out.

El Carnicero is not going to lose his debut. That would immediately neuter all buzz over him as a monster heel. If they want him to get over and be the next Mankind / Kane / Undertaker, he needs to be dominant. Otherwise, he’s just the next Luchasaurus (who I like, but it isn’t the same vibe). Whoever he’s up against, he beats, so that could be almost anyone and I’d pick him. Basically, unless it’s someone like Roman Reigns or CM Punk, I think he’s a safe bet.

Likewise, I can’t picture anyone getting the title shot against Flammer other than La Catalina. She didn’t take the pinfall loss in her Triple Threat match. Lady Shani did. Catalina has the most momentum on her side to be the next champion.

When it comes to War Raiders against Los Americanos for the tag team titles, I’m a bit split. Erik and Ivar retaining makes sense if they’re not going to be utilized on the Raw or SmackDown rosters going forward any more than they currently are. Even then, they’ve made appearances despite being champions, so what’s to stop them from continuing to do the same? Rayo and Bravo winning also wouldn’t shock me as they’re over with the crowd and can make this more of their focus. I’ll stick with War Raiders, but if the belts change hands, I won’t be too surprised.

Los Perros del Mal against The Lucha Bros and Dragon Lee should go to LPDM. The only thing they’ve done so far is kick Bronco Nima out of the group after he lost. He’s since bounced back and is part of this new group with Royce Keys, but the others need to recoup from their loss, too. Pinning Rey Fenix or Dragon Lee makes sense to me. Daga picks up the win. That is, unless they want to really push Penta and have him pin Angel or Berto.

Finally, the Fatal 4-Way for the vacated AAA Latin American Championship is very difficult for me to predict. I see the value in putting it on Damian Priest as a former WWE world champion. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. was a former champion, so he’s already proven he can be trusted with this belt. El Fiscal would be on the newer side and they seem to like him quite a bit. La Parka is La Parka, meaning while he could very well win, he probably won’t, but don’t count him out entirely. Gun to my head, I think I’ll go with El Fiscal winning, but this is a very interesting group of people who I wouldn’t have necessarily imagined vying for this title when Vikingo went down with his injury.
