During a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray and host Dave LaGreca talked about Vince McMahon.

Ray likened McMahon to the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. He suggested that McMahon embodied the traits of George Steinbrenner and Jerry Jones combined, as both could acquire any desired talent and were targets for everyone wanting to see them fail.

He said, “Dave, who are the two most polarizing sports teams in all of pro sports. Everybody wants to beat the Cowboys and the Yankees. Even if the Cowboys suck, you still want to beat America’s team. Even if the Yankees suck, you still want to take down the empire. That’s the way it has been forever because they are so successful, you just want to be the one to take them down. Vince McMahon was the Yankees and the Cowboys all rolled into one, and everybody wanted to take him down because the perception is Vince took everybody else down.”

During a recent edition of his “Lex Expressed” podcast, former WWE/WCW star Lex Luger discussed his career and his former onscreen rival, the late Yokozuna.

Lex Luger on Yokozuna: “He worked so hard, was such a great torch bearer for the company, I mean we called him ‘The Showstopper.’ When they played that music and he came out with Mr. Fuji? Man, the show was over – that’s why we called him ‘Showstopper’ in the back.”

On how Yokozuna could move well for his size: “He was so big but man, he could still move around! Those island boys? Man, they are so athletic.”
