AEW’s Darby Allin remains committed to climbing Mount Everest after an injury prohibited his latest risk-taking endeavor earlier this year.

Allin had intended to climb Everest in the summer before a broken foot injury sustained on Dynamite. He has since returned to in-ring action.

Speaking at the AEW All In: Texas ticket launch event, Allin addressed his delayed climb of the world’s tallest mountain. He said,

“This company gives me so much. They let me do what I want to do in the ring and they let me do what I want to do in my personal life. I am climbing Mount Everest in April and I am gonna’ take that AEW flag and I’m gonna plant it on top of the world and remind everyone what I’m capable of.”

Allin’s attempted climb will be a huge risk, with at least 322 people dying on the mountain since records began in the Himalayan database.

Bodies are left on the mountain due to the risk related to removal, in tribute to the climbers’ love for adventure, and as a somber reminder of the perils of nature.

One part of the mountain has been named ‘Rainbow Valley’ in reference to the bodies of deceased climbers still wearing bright thermal clothing.
