WWE has officially announced the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event as a live primetime special airing on December 14 on NBC.
This marks the first Saturday Night’s Main Event TV special since 2008. Tickets will be available for purchase starting on Friday, September 20.
The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York, where the inaugural event took place, will host the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Pwinsider is reporting that the NBC broadcast will be a two-hour special. The live show is scheduled to air at 10:00 p.m. EST and will be broadcast live on the West Coast from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PST without any tape delay.
WWE’s decision to hold Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14 will not impact the long-standing tradition of a live event at Madison Square Garden on December 26.
The report states that WWE has the December 26th MSG show scheduled on its calendar and may officially announce it soon.
Moreover, the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event will not replace the post-Christmas event at Madison Square Garden. This will give the New York area two major events in December instead of one.
