WWE Superstars were said to be displeased with Vince McMahon’s promo during his surprising appearance on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

McMahon made his first public appearance since stepping down as WWE CEO amid the ongoing investigation into an alleged affair with a paralegal.

In his brief appearance, McMahon emphasized WWE’s tagline ‘Then. Now. Forever. Together’ and welcomed fans to the show.

Fightful is reporting that they received a bunch of reactions from both current and former WWE Superstars reacting to McMahon’s appearance and that the general consensus ranges from confused to enraged.

One top talent within WWE said the promo was “tone-deaf and embarrassing,” and believes it was McMahon’s attempt to lessen the impact of the investigation.

An anonymous former Superstar said that they were glad the promo was so short, but that McMahon showed no accountability for what’s being alleged against the ex-Chairman.
