Report – Mason Rook May Be Out For A Long Time

Mason Rook’s WWE absence could be far more serious than initially believed.

Rook was scheduled to challenge for the NXT World Championship on the September 29 episode of NXT, but the match was pulled after he was not medically cleared to compete. At the time, the WWE star attempted to downplay the situation, telling fans that the setback was merely a “speed bump” rather than a “roadblock.”

WWE provided little additional information regarding Rook’s condition, simply confirming that he had not been cleared to wrestle. That lack of detail left questions surrounding exactly what had forced him out of the championship match.

However, a much more concerning update has now emerged.

During Wednesday’s edition of “Wrestling Observer Live,” Bryan Alvarez discussed Rook’s situation and indicated that the issue could potentially keep him out of action for an extended period. He said,

“I have heard… whatever’s going on with Mason Rook, I have been told could be pretty serious. I’ve been told he could be out a long time — could be a very long time. No one seems to be really talking about what the issue is. Whatever it is, it’s a real issue, and he could be out for a long time.”

At this time, neither WWE nor Rook has publicly revealed the nature of the medical issue, meaning that there is still no official diagnosis or timetable for his return.
