Omos has been suspended from AAA indefinitely following a confrontation with General Manager Rey Mysterio.
The trouble began during this week’s episode of Lucha Libre AAA on FOX, where Omos faced Galeno in singles action. The match ended without a decisive result, but Omos continued his assault on Galeno after the bell.
Omos eventually put Galeno through the collapsed commentary desk and appeared ready to take things even further, grabbing the ring steps and preparing to launch them at his fallen opponent.
Rey Mysterio then rushed to the ring in an attempt to stop Omos. Instead of backing down, Omos lifted Mysterio off his feet and delivered a chokeslam. Dorian Roldán objected to the attack, while AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio encouraged Omos to put his father through the ring.
Omos ultimately followed through and slammed Rey to the mat.
Once he recovered, Mysterio made his decision clear. The AAA General Manager announced that Omos had been suspended from the promotion indefinitely and added that he never wanted to see the former WWE star in AAA again.
Omos responded by striking Rey, sending him flying out of the ring.
A new championship opportunity will be determined at Lucha Libre AAA’s Ola de Calor on August 30.
Duringthis week’s episode of AAA on FOX, reigning Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer and one-half of the World Mixed Tag Team Champions, La Hiedra, visited AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio’s office.
Flammer made it clear that she has no intention of competing at TripleManía 34 in September. The champion pointed to her reign of more than 1,000 days and claimed that she has already defeated everyone who has challenged her.
Mysterio then presented a solution. He proposed a Gauntlet match at Ola de Calor, with the winner earning the right to challenge Flammer for the Reina de Reinas Championship at Triplemanía 34.
Flammer agreed to the stipulation, meaning a new No. 1 contender will be crowned in Edinburg, Texas, on August 30.
