What’s Next For Velveteen Dream?

Patrick Clark, best known to WWE fans as Velveteen Dream, is set to make his professional boxing debut later this month.

Clark will step into the ring on August 29 at the Duel Arena, where he is scheduled to face podcast host Ryan Pownall, the host of “Pillow Talk.” The event will take place at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, with Mike Perry vs. Dillon Danis serving as the headline bout.

Clark’s wrestling career was derailed by a series of controversies following allegations made against him in 2020. In March of that year, he was accused on social media of inappropriate contact with a minor. Clark addressed the allegation the following month and denied the accusations.

During the Speaking Out movement in June 2020, professional wrestler Joshua Fuller also accused Clark of inappropriate contact with a minor and grooming.

WWE ultimately released Clark in May 2021.

His post-WWE career was later complicated by legal issues. On August 26, 2022, Clark was arrested in Orlando, Florida, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed an August 20 incident at a Florida gym in which he was accused of punching and biting an employee.

Clark attempted to return to WWE in 2025 and reportedly lobbied for another opportunity with the company, but he was not brought back.

Now, more than five years after his WWE release, Clark is set to begin a new chapter in combat sports when he makes his boxing debut at Duel Arena on August 29.
