Report – R-Truth Rejected Lowball Offer Before WWE Release

As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, former 24/7 Champion R-Truth (Ron Killings) has been released by WWE.

A representative from WWE’s talent relations department informed R-Truth over the weekend that his contract with the company will not be renewed. While the exact expiration date of his contract is not known, it is approaching soon.

The WWE Universe is reacting to R-Truth’s unexpected exit, with former announcer Jonathan Coachman suggesting that he may have chosen to leave after being offered a significantly reduced contract.

During a recent edition of his “The Coach & Bro Show,” Coachman claimed a source suggested WWE made an offer that undervalued R-Truth’s contributions, shifting the narrative from a simple budget cut by Triple H to R-Truth declining the terms. Coachman said,

“I should put this out there because I had somebody reach out to me. And, reportedly, and I have not confirmed this, but, reportedly, they did offer R-Truth a contract that was far less money than what he was making, and he decided to turn that down. That’s what somebody told me that’s in the know.”

Fans have reacted strongly to R-Truth’s WWE release, demanding his return with chants and social media posts.

In contrast, Carlito’s situation is straightforward, as he was informed his WWE contract would not be renewed while involved in a storyline with The Judgment Day.

As previously reported by Dave Meltzer, R-Truth and Carlito were both part of budget cuts under the TKO leadership. Meltzer said,

“They’re looking at the numbers… Those were the Levesque picks. And that’s what it is.”
