Fightful Select is reporting that WWE is interested in signing veteran NJPW wrestler Jeff Cobb, who is currently a free agent.

Cobb has been primarily wrestling for NJPW as part of The United Empire but recently hinted at exploring other opportunities after a loss, expressing uncertainty about his future with the company.

While it’s been rumored that Cobb appeared on WWE’s internal roster, this has not been confirmed. AEW sources also stated that Cobb is not expected to join AEW despite having appeared there in the past.

Cobb, 42, has held multiple NJPW titles, including the IWGP Tag Team Titles, NEVER Openweight Title, and NJPW World Television Championship. He also competed in the 2004 Olympic Games.
